Our client is renowned as a global market leader in the supply of bespoke materials handling solutions for a diverse range of applications, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, the company are now seeking to recruit a team of enthusiastic, dynamic and self-motivated Technical Centre Specialist to complement the existing Customer Support team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day management of technical engineering issues within a busy materials handling equipment environment, providing technical support for both internal and external customers through both the 24 hour support desk function and field based work respectively.

You will be involved in the 24/7 technical support function and help ensure it is available to all customers, undertaking training preparation and delivery when required. You will be part of a team that resolves all aspects of client issues, supporting and assisting the account management team and performing site visits on a regular basis.

Additionally, you will review statistical monthly data for site Materials Handling equipment and create technical plans for issues raised, creating upgrade and enhancement quotations to a professional standard and accurately within strict timescale constraints as well as assisting in the delivery of upgrade & enhancement presentations to clients when required. Finally, you will assist in the smooth integration between the design and engineering departments and the Customer Service and Support team, managing the escalation procedure of customer issues
when required and ensuring proactive management of technical engineering issues within the support function at a field based level.

The role offers a unique challenge to have complete autonomy and responsibility for all aspects of site issues in both the UK and Europe, necessitating occasional worldwide travel when required and exceptional communication skills to ensure effective liaison with the internal management team and external customers respectively.

To be considered for this position, you must have a flexible approach to both working hours and location. You will be qualified to at least HNC level in a relevant engineering discipline and demonstrate knowledge and experience of either materials handling or process control equipment (a minimum of two years experience gained in working with inverters, drives, Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC’s and general MCC systems is essential) and a good understanding CAD electrical drawings would also prove to be invaluable.
