Our client is recognized as one of the UK’s market leaders in the area of automated materials handling solutions, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing program of strategic growth, they are now looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer to develop electrical design solutions for a range of projects within strict budgetary and timescale constraints.
Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of designing, planning and developing electrical designs for a diverse range of materials handling projects utilising EPlan and Autocad and ensuring compliance with relevant national and international standards.
You will produce accurate and complete specification, costings and timing plans for each assigned project and will both prepare and issue engineering information required for the purchase, manufacture and assembly of associated control systems in accordance with the working procedures manual. You will support the process of installation vendor selection and quality control as well as providing information to enable the production of operation, maintenance and parts manuals, supporting the electrical installation and commissioning on site at the end of each project and investigating and correcting on site problems with the electrical hardware and software if required.
Whilst complying with associated working procedures and protocols, H&S and COSHH requirements at all times, you will support the development of standards relating to electrical design making sure appropriate new technology is utilised where it improved quality or reduces cost, and will maintain up-to-date knowledge of advances in control systems technology, providing support to other departments as appropriate and producing electrical test procedures as needed. An excellent communicator at all levels, you will participate in design planning meetings and attend internal and external meetings as required, and will liaise with a range of contacts including Project Engineers and Managers, Control Systems Engineers and various customer contacts on site.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, you will essentially possess a full driving licence and be qualified to HND or above in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with previous experience of Siemens PLC’s and warehousing automation solutions proving distinctly advantageous.
