Description: Experienced and highly capable Supply Chain Development professional required for globally renowned defence sector market leader.
Salary: c£37k to £47k negotiable dependant upon experience.
Our client specialise in the design and manufacture of a range of special purpose products for supply to the global defence sector, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of planned strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced, dynamic and self motivated Supply Chain Development Engineer to complement their established and highly successful team.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Development Manager, the successful candidate will develop a capable supply chain through the analysis of the capability strengths and weaknesses of key suppliers and potential future suppliers, whilst managing appropriate evaluations and risk assessments and undertaking mitigation actions through continuous improvement activities. The role both delivers and responds to supplier performance analysis and supports the co-ordination of relationship development so an organised and meticulous attention to detail approach is critical for the position.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, you will essentially demonstrate particularly strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to influence and persuade key strategic Supply Chain decisions. You will be credible and have the behaviours and persona to engender trust and to convince stakeholders to pursue change and continuous improvement, as well as being both engaging and enthusiastic in an environment where passion for Supply Chain evolution (transformation) is prevalent.
With your strong analytical and problem solving skills and ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, knowledge and experience of systematic process approaches to capability evaluation, development, measuring and relationship development at all levels are essential in this role, and whilst an aerospace or defence background isn’t essential for the position, prerequisite skills from a comparably complex market sector will also be considered, so a proven track record of assessing / evaluating capability in the supply chain, developing joint improvement plans and then working with the supplier and internal stakeholders to maintain and act on improvement metrics as required from another market will also prove advantageous.
