Description: Dynamic and experienced Group Commodity Buyer required for busy niche market global manufacturing organisation.
Salary: to £40,000 plus benefits
Our client specialise in the manufacture and distribution of highest quality mobility solutions for use by various members of the community, incorporating a range of bespoke products such as stair lifts, handling systems and access assistance equipment, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing program of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated Group Commodity Buyer to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Board of Directors and based in the West Midlands, the successful candidate will essentially possess an engineering and technical appreciation due to the complexity of product solutions and their incorporation of motors, drives and gears.
Working closely with the Commodity Team, you will be responsible for developing their purchasing strategy, the consolidation and coordination of factory demand and for all commercial decision related to all assigned commodities, including the negotiation of all global commodity contracts with support from the Regional Management team. You will drive article standardisation between factories and continuously initiate cost reduction initiatives, whilst providing support with your expert knowledge as input to the supplier structure selection process and contract negotiations process.
Additionally you will retain a very much “hands on” approach to procurement activities within the factory, undertaking order handling, invoice matching, reporting and follow ups and monitoring supplier performance on an ongoing basis.
