Our client have been established for more than 30 years, and specialise in the provision of bespoke energy and environmental control and monitoring solutions for a diverse range of applications to customers across the globe. As a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly self motivated and multi skilled Junior Controls Engineer to complement their established and successful team.
Based in Bath, the successful candidate will demonstrate a foundation of control software development skills and previous exposure to multiple PLC control platforms gained within a technically challenging environment, and will undertake both programming and maintaining of various control systems that are operated on small “gas to power” generation sites throughout the UK.
A strong appreciation of PLC programming (ladder logic skills transferrable across varying platforms) alongwith previous commercial experience (rather than purely academic) is essential, and the successful candidate will be expected to work on all technical aspects of projects in addition to planning and scheduling them directly with clients across the country, and necessitating travel to client sites in the Midlands on a couple of occasions each month.
Whilst the controls and electrical bias is apparent, you will additionally and essentially possess a strong hands-on mechanical awareness, as the role will also entail undertaking service work on a range of gas engines.
