Description: Experienced, dynamic and proactive Senior Project Manager required by globally renowned SPM manufacturing client.
Salary: up to £50k negotiable dependant upon experience
Our client specialise in the design and manufacture of globally renowned special purpose machinery for a range of manufacturing applications, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, proactive and accomplished Senior Project Manager to complement their established and highly successful team.
THE POSITION
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will manage a small team of project managers and planning personnel, managing multiple projects across all project phases, including initiation, release, planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure. Taking the lead in ensuring all projects are delivered on time, in full and within budget.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop detailed project plans, including work breakdown structures, schedule creation, resource planning, costings and synthesising across multiple projects.
• Maintain project risk registers and lead stakeholders to develop and mitigate any identified risks.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of projects and staff; communicate with cross functional project team as necessary to ensure project deliverables are on schedule and within cost parameters.
• Communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers as needed in regards to project deliverables including managing expectations, presenting and interfacing with clients and senior management.
• Make decisions and communicate trade-offs and risks; drive key decisions across projects
• Make recommendations to management about schedules, prioritisation and resource allocation with input from team members.
• Provide on-going project plan/status reporting for use by the business, customers and management
• Manage the operational, resource and organisational capacity planning
• Coach and train project management team on PM processes and best practices
• Represent and support PM policies, procedures and best practices to key business stakeholders
• Maintenance and control of standard contracts and commercial terms and conditions
• Invoicing / export and financing documentation
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Degree educated in a Project Management / Engineering related field with strong commercial experience
• A proven track record in the management of large technology orientated, multi-disciplinary projects. Showing successful delivery of high value contracts.
• Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and multiple project managers, across high profile and technologically development projects.
• Experience of export contract and commercial terms
• Ability to manage and promote change within the organisation
• Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams
• Ability to find and challenge solutions to project constraints
• Ability to manage, motivate and lead staff within our company rules, values and behaviours
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills in a customer facing environment.
• Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work effectively in a professional manner across all functions within the business, management and clients.
• Ability to work independently
• Self-motivated with the ability to drive projects, accept challenges and motivate others
• Experience of estimating and managing project cost and costs to completion
• Pro-active and pragmatic with regards to problem solving
• Experience of working with PM within an ERP environment
• Willing to travel internationally on an occasional basis
• Language skills would be an advantage in this role
