Our client specialise in the provision of managed services for all aspects of production equipment maintenance within a diverse range of manufacturing environments, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit two articulate, enthusiastic and highly self motivated and capable Helpdesk Support Engineers to complement their existing team. 

Reporting to the IT Services Manager and working from 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday, the successful candidates will provide high quality customer support from within the organisation and will be responsible for both response and resolution of PC software and/or hardware systems support via remote media (telephone, e-mail, web) in accordance with required service level agreements.

You will receive and process to resolution a range of telephone calls from users having problems using computer software and/or hardware from specific software, hardware or operating systems, escalating all unresolved calls to higher support levels within managed process of escalation and will perform root cause analysis (RCA) and provide accurate and timely solutions to PC basic-to-intermediate software and systems problems to ensure end-user productivity. Additionally you will provide a basic level of hardware troubleshooting, repair and installation on specified product lines to end-users.  

Drawing upon your creative and free thinking abilities, you will be resourceful to develop and contribute to solutions for complex problems, and will assist in generating defined Helpdesk performance reports/metrics or charts to schedule whilst attending and participating in training sessions in order to acquire and maintain knowledge of relevant software, hardware, product offerings and support policies within the Helpdesk. You will keep customers, supervisors and other Helpdesk team members informed of problems and progress and will participate in team projects that enhance the productivity and efficiency of the Helpdesk. 

To be considered for this varied and challenging role, you will essentially possess a full UK driving licence and will ideally have achieved a relevant degree qualification. You will demonstrate previous experience of providing support over the telephone, and will be familiar with or working towards ITIL or CompTIA accreditation. With a strong understanding of PC hardware and associated software including operating systems and applications, being MOUS and with knowledge of the configuration and deployment of images using Microsoft Development Toolkit and/or Windows Development Services will prove distinctly beneficial.
