Description: Experienced and resilient Quality engineering professional required for dynamic and high pressure manufacturing market leader.

Reporting to the Quality Manager and working on a permanent days basis, the successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the general quality of parts by targeting problem parts, those with critical tolerances and surface finishes and first off parts after setup, taking necessary actions when problems are identified to minimise scrap and ensure that incorrect parts are not sent to the customer, as well as facilitating clear and effective communication between the day and night shifts and between the Inspection Department and Supervision / Operators on quality matters.
Able to demonstrate previous experience within a high pressure quality and manufacturing environment, you will be tasked with quickly gaining knowledge of all of the jobs within the factory, including gauging and quality issues, and will liaise with the Supervision and Operators to ensure awareness of such issues, previous internal and external quality problems and the facilitation of improvements.
You will work with and support the shift inspection to ensure that the necessary checks are carried out on running parts and review the effectiveness of measurement data on new and existing product including the review and analysis SPC data, assisting in the completion of quality documentation, from PPAP through to part specific instructions and reviewing concerns and developing effective corrective and preventive action plans where appropriate.
Additionally you will both develop and carry out internal quality training to ensure all personnel have a good understanding of the quality aspects of their roles, as well as working with the shift inspection team, checking parts against the Customer drawings and specifications using the Company’s CMM’s and providing clear and prompt feedback to the Nightshift Supervision on necessary adjustments.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, you will be qualified to at least HND level in a relevant engineering discipline and will demonstrate excellent practical analytical & problem solving skills alongwith a working knowledge of Quality Techniques (APQP / SPC) and previous Quality Assurance experience in Automotive Industry. You will be proficient in reading Engineering drawings and able to interpret CMM data, and will additionally ensure good housekeeping is performed at all times and that all quality issues are reported and monitored, and will be responsible for a range of H&S issues ensuring a safe working environment and compliance to relevant legislation at all times.
