Description: Enthusiastic and capable Project Engineer required to ensure on time within budget high value projects allied to the Water Treatment sector

Salary: to £40k plus benefits

 

Our client specialize in the design and supply of equipment used in the treatment of domestic and industrial water and wastewater, and as a result of recent positive restructuring and a series of strategic acquisitions that have provided the organisation with recognized trademarks, cutting edge technology and access to new markets, they offer a complete range of both solutions and products on a Global basis and are seeking to recruit an experienced Project Engineer to complement their existing team. Working within the companies Energy division and reporting to the Projects Manager, the successful candidate will work as part of a team committed to ensuring that projects are managed and executed to specification, on time and within budget as well as encompassing the technical and commercial aspects of a number of high value contracts. 

You will be tasked with reviewing all applicable job data, including POs, project plans and specifications, and coordinating with other departments and Project Engineers/Managers to meet scheduled task deadlines, maintaining schedules for purchasing, fabrication, construction, inspection, start-up etc and prioritizing staff workload to meet goals whilst assigning warranty items to engineering staff. You will schedule and conduct project review meetings, focusing on scope of supply, cost, construction, and project scheduling and advising the Project Manager of project status while adhering to all appropriate policies and established safety procedures, and reporting any variations including costs and problems which may change the forecast delivery, profitability, warranty etc of such contracts.

In addition to assisting in the running of contracts, you will understand the requirements of company quality processes and apply them to projects, providing a contact point for the customer for day to day project issues and appreciating contract commercial terms and conditions in order to advise the project manager of commercial risks and opportunities where appropriate. Critically you will monitor project progress against time and budget and report on potential problematic areas whilst attending occasional liaison meetings and site visits with potential clients in Europe and on occasions worldwide, so flexibility to travel is essential.

To be considered for this varied and challenging role, you will be degree qualified in an engineering discipline and be able to read, analyze, and interpret complex industry related documents and drawings as well as respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints when they may arise. You will be IT literate, proficient in the MS suite of applications and be able to apply advanced mathematical equations to a variety of complex, non-standard situations. Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and assembly techniques and Commercial Terms & Conditions and Contract law will also prove distinctly advantageous.
