Description: Experienced and enthusiastic Software Engineer required to devise software and test solutions using VB and C platforms.

Our client specialise in the design, manufacture and application of decontamination solutions for various types of contamination in a number of sectors including defence, healthcare and food production environments, and as a result of recent positive restructuring and continued success within their niche sector, are now looking to recruit a suitably experienced and dynamic Software Engineer to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Controls Manager and working as part of a busy and dedicated Controls Team, the successful Software Engineer will be tasked with writing Code for PIC Chips and other microprocessors to operate pharmaceutical type equipment, and both testing and creating associated documentation of the programs to rigorous industry standards. You will write test programs to enable the efficient test of equipment when manufactured on site as well as for Service Engineers for site servicing and fault finding, and will design systems to store test information within databases and storage of variables within products with appropriate access security.
Qualified to at least HND or above in a relevant software engineering discipline, you will demonstrate proven experience and knowledge of programming in VB and C (essential) with SQL database work proving advantageous, and you must be able to pick-up and work with proprietary software languages with ease.
You will possess previous experience of programming embedded control systems within Industrial products, and working on the PIC family of microprocessors, and experience of Siemens PLC (S7-200 series) software would be an added advantage but is not essential. You must be able to show the ability to work within larger design teams of different disciplines as well as with clients which may be on their site and your ability to work “hands on” and fault find on the products when required.
