Our client specialise in the design, manufacture and application of decontamination solutions for various types of contamination in a number of sectors including defence, healthcare and food production environments, and as a result of recent positive restructuring and continued success within their niche sector, are now looking to recruit a suitably experienced and dynamic Project Manager to complement their established and successful team. Reporting to the Senior Projects Manager within a busy technical department, the successful candidate will ensure the efficient development of products from initial brief through design, development, testing & production, whilst primarily focussing on the development of HPV decontamination products for the healthcare and life science sectors.
The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic and an excellent communicator since projects require the co-ordination of many of the internal company departments, building relationships with sub-suppliers as well as reporting key project information to the senior management team, so exposure to customers can be expected in the role and the ability to write concisely and accurately is essential to ensure reports and meeting minutes can be generated. You will manage numerous projects at any one time so the ability to work in a systematic way on parallel activities is critical to delivering to demanding timescales, and whilst it is not envisaged that you will carry out detailed mechanical or electrical design tasks, the role will require you to demonstrate an appreciation of one, or both, of these disciplines. Team working is of course encouraged although you will need to demonstrate the ability to use your own initiative when tackling problems autonomously. Training on the company range of products, technology and solutions will be given.
To be considered for this varied and challenging opportunity, you will be an excellent verbal and written communicator with good analytical and verbal presentation skills, and be able to manage multiple activities to tight deadlines and to handle periods of high activity and pressure, producing clear and accurate output. Self-motivated with good knowledge of MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, MS Project experience would be beneficial but not essential) and essentially qualified in a scientific subject to a degree level or equivalent, ideally you will have some experience of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or healthcare environment in a senior / supervisory capacity.
