Our globally renowned client is the market leader in the provision of mailroom equipment solutions for a range of customers throughout the world, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, articulate and highly self motivated and experience Quality Control professional to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager and Operations Director, the successful candidate will be tasked with undertaking a range of quality control activities in the company’s manufacturing areas including procured mechanical components, and will measure and report on quality levels within the machine shop, sheet metal department and for key external suppliers.
Working with both a product lifecycle management system (Windchill) and the company’s materials requirement and planning system (MFG PRO), you will ensure the maintenance of ISO9001 within the department operate as part of the internal auditing team, performing visual and dimensional verification activity on mechanical components in accordance with documented company procedures and drawings and liaising with the purchasing department to measure suppliers quality performance and assessing the level of inspection required for each supplier using delivery performance reject history, component complexity and risk, whilst carrying out supplier visits as and when required.
Additionally you will provide technical assistance to suppliers regarding issues with drawing and standards interpretation, and will act as the interface between suppliers and the design department with regards to the non-conforming product and concession process. You will provide first off inspection as requested by members of the component manufacturing departments and on occasion external suppliers, and will highlight and record instances of non-conformances found or changes in quality trends from both internal and external sources where appropriate.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role within a stable, progressive and technically diverse environment, you will demonstrate a good understanding of quality control sampling plans and working in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems procedures, as well as comprehensive knowledge of current measuring techniques and equipment. You will be computer literate with exceptional communication and organisational skills, alongwith a flexible and committed approach to work.
