Description: Purchasing and Administration Assistant required for procurement team within an engineering manufacturing environment.

Salary: to £18k plus benefits

Our client, established for more than a century and renowned globally as a market leader in their specialist field, are seeking to recruit a highly self motivated, dynamic and successful Purchasing Assistant as a result of continued success and a planned programmed of strategic growth.

 

Based in Coventry, you will liaise extensively with the Stores Team and Material Planning department regarding the issue of kit and will be responsible for the ordering of stationery in line with company policy, raising purchase orders covering Service and Repair/maintenance and both expediting and de-expediting materials on order as appropriate. You will make the purchasing team aware of any delays likely to affect production and maintain a list of prospective suppliers and materials and associated material movement data/charts.

 

Additionally you will collect and enter supplier quotations into spread sheets for evaluation and will provide samples and information to prospective suppliers, maintaining a log of outstanding contracts and copying and filing signed contracts where required. You will compile RFQ packages (including drawings and specifications) and assist the Purchasing Manager/Buyer as required on daily and project work, whilst booking in deliveries and performing Engineering Drawing release (drawings that are issued to suppliers/change of issues) as well as filing and the general upkeep of order acknowledgements and chasing.

 

To be considered for this fast paced and challenging role you will demonstrate a methodical approach to your work and an excellent telephone technique, and will work comfortably in both a team based and autonomous environment. You will be flexible in your approach to work and will enjoy performing a range of relevant administration, liaison and filing duties within a busy team based environment.
