The challenging and rewarding position for a Tooling designer / CNC Programmer has been created to work within the Manufacturing Engineering arm of the Dynamic Composite Components Centre in the South West of England, manufacturing precision aerospace structural components for a range of applications.This is a key role working within a team responsible for the design, manufacture and maintenance of tools; the technical support for process machining (both conventional and CNC); and technical support of coordinate measuring machine inspection, and to be considered for the position, successful candidates will have completed an Engineering apprenticeship; educated to minimum HNC level or above in a mechanical, production or aeronautical discipline and will have previous technical experience in a composite manufacturing environment.Knowledge of CATIA V5, including composite workbench and machining is essential, and experience of designing and NC programming of parts using CATIA V4 and V5 is desirable along with good organisational, interpersonal and team-leadership skills.
You will be tasked with providing technical support and interacting with the design, supply and operational teams in order to ensure effective and efficient specification and development of components before and during manufacture. Additionally you will create fully detailed tooling and equipment designs utilising advanced CATIA processes, and prepare specifications and provide technical support where required. It is envisaged that you will be qualified to at least HND / Degree level in a relevant mechanical, production, composite or aeronautical discipline and ideally have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
With proven CATIA experience (at least 4000 hrs on advanced CATIA processes and advanced 2D and 3D NC programming including sign off) and experience of V4 PostWorks and V5 FastPost and Vericut proving distinctly advantageous.
