Description: Varied and unusual role that will challenge the most enthusiastic and experienced of Environmental Services Manager within a UK renowned organisation.

Our client specialise in the supply and provision of best cost and quality agricultural solutions for a range of UK customers, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly self motivated Services Manager to coordinate the environmental activities of the 120 UK sites and ensure compliance to the highest standards of health and welfare. 

 

Supported by a team of senior managers and regional administrators, this varied and challenging opportunity consists of two core areas – that of Environmental Permitting and Contractor Coordination, and will suit only the most organised of individuals able to stringently manage their time and communicate effectively at all levels.

 

The Environment Permitting element will entail acting as the key point of contact for liaison with the Environment Agency for all areas of the business, overseeing IPPC for all areas, including audits, inspections and reviews for all areas of the business and ensuring audit compliance of contractors and farms against PPP legislation and procedures for all areas of the business. You will assist with major project work improvements, refurbishment and new build developments that require the installation to operate under an environmental permit whilst keeping all areas of the business compliant and up to date with current environmental legislation.

 

You will implement and maintain a standardised method of documenting and recording all aspects relating to environmental permitting to include Permit applications, new applications / variations, Records Management and Duty of Care for company / contractors, and with the help of the accounts team will produce an annual budget for the Permitting cost to the business which will include all new applications, variations, ongoing improvements and renovations. Additionally you will liaise with the Environment Agency Account Managers to agree timescales on large scale improvement plans and will both investigate and improve where required the company’s environmental sustainability and efficiency.

 

Relating to the Contractor Coordinating, you will plan and control the turnaround and cleanout process  in order to maximise the time and resources available whilst managing all major contractors involved. You will produce Terminal Disinfection Programmes and operational procedures taking into account all health and safety aspects for both site personnel and contractors, and will be responsible for running controlled Chemical Stores for all wash companies. You will oversee the conducting of chemical trials and methods of operation to constantly improve bio-security.

 

Whilst previous environmental and hygiene knowledge will prove distinctly advantageous for the role, applications are invited from Senior Management professionals able to demonstrate proven experience within the FMCG, Environmental, Agricultural or Farming sectors with full training available.
