Our client, established for more than a century and renowned globally as a market leader in their specialist field, are seeking to recruit a highly self motivated, dynamic and successful Quality Engineering professional to compliment their established and committed team as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth.
The successful candidate will be a highly self motivated individual experienced within a range of Quality functions and systems and will ideally be qualified in Six Sigma methodologies, preferably to black belt level. You will ensure that the Company’s products are fit for purpose and meet customer expectations, and will be responsible for interrogating internal and external feedback on product quality, including liaison with customers, and leading rigorous and structured process reviews to ensure continuous quality improvement. This will include identifying, initiating and completing projects, using Six Sigma methodology, the outcome of which can be measured by bottom line improvement.
You will be able to provide evidence of successful Six Sigma project implementation within a manufacturing environment and will also possess a good working knowledge of modern systems and philosophies (including but not limited to ISO9000, TQM, APQP, PPAP and Lean Manufacturing principles).
Core duties and responsibilities will include the Investigation and reporting on customer quality issues using 8D visual reporting, evaluating and implementing cost effective corrective actions, the use of PFMEA, including process risk assessment and maintaining quality process controls and documentation, as well as collating and analysing performance data and charts against defined parameters and monitoring performance via data collection, producing statistical reports where required and leading multi functional teams to drive improvements. You will ensure compliance with appropriate national and international standards and legislation as well as giving due consideration of environmental Health & Safety standards, and will be instrumental in defining quality procedures in conjunction with engineering and operating staff as well as in the identification of relevant quality-related training needs.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate experience gained within fabrication / welding / CNC sheet metal manipulation / CNC punching / CNC laser cutting and CNC folding, and will be educated to at least HNC / HND or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline. You will possess the ability to think laterally whilst remaining calm under pressure, and will adopt a flexible approach to all aspects of the role. Good communication skills, particularly the ability to influence and persuade others and full PC literacy with the MS Office suite as well as a thorough understanding of the Quality function, within a business process environment are critical to success in this role.
