Description: Senior Manager with at least 5 years experience gained within the materials handling sector required to coordinate and directly manage all aspects of systems integration across a wide range of industry sectors and applications.
Salary: to £50k plus benefits, bonus and vehicle
Our client specialises in the design, development and implementation of automation and materials handling solutions for supply throughout the UK and Europe, and as a result of an ongoing programme of planned strategic growth for 2010, a new permanent position has been created for an experienced and highly capable Systems Integration Manager to supervise and co-ordinate the activities of a busy and highly successful materials handling systems integration department.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will act as Line Manager for the systems integration management team, dealing with the day to day issues that arise outside of the normal project based activities and managing the consistent design, specification, integration, implementation, commissioning and testing of materials handling control system solutions. You will directly manage the development and maintenance of control system interface standards, standard FAT’s and SAT’s and ensure that the management team plan and monitor project budgets and deadlines effectively, allocating resources as required to fulfil workload.
Additionally you will monitor and co-ordinate general trends and developments in the design of software products with software development team and review management activities on a monthly basis to ensure that the proposed controls solution meets customer specification, on time and within budget whilst keeping the Engineering Manager and the relevant Contract Managers regularly informed of the status of the above.
This is a business critical position, and the successful candidate will be directly responsible for monitoring the performance of individual members of the team (taking appropriate action to improve performance if necessary) as well as developing and maintaining working procedures and methods as necessary and subsequently ensuring that these procedures are followed by all members of the team.
In addition, you will ensure that wherever possible, standard specifications are adopted in order to optimise business in terms of price and performance to ensure maximum competitive advantage for the company and where required, work with Project Managers and Contract Mangers in other areas of the business to develop appropriate and cost effective control system solutions.
To be considered for this exceptional opportunity within a market leading organisation renowned globally for quality of product and commitment to customers, you will be Degree / HND qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent level, with at least five years project management experience in automated MHE control systems project management with proven leadership skills, the ability to demonstrate initiative and strong strategic capabilities alongwith an assertive approach and the ability to motivate others.
