Description: Technical Sales professional with a mechanical bias required to support both sales and installation engineers int he field, and provide quotes, tender documentation and all round technical sales support to a busy and highly successful manufacturing environment.
Salary: to £26,000 plus benefits
As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth for 2010 and beyond, our established and internationally renowned client is seeking an enthusiastic and highly self motivated internal Technical Sales professional with proven sales experience to compliment their dynamic team of business development professionals.
The successful candidate will use their engineering and technical knowledge and expertise to assess enquiries, prepare quotations, respond to customer’s technical queries and provide comprehensive telephone support to customers and engineers on site in a prompt, courteous and effective manner; so an electro-mechanical background with extensive liaison with customers in both a sales and support capacity would prove to be distinctly advantageous.
In addition to the support and quotation aspects of the role, additionally you will liaise with customers on the progress of current orders and will develop effective working relationships that encourage new business from existing or potential customers. In assessing enquiries and preparing quotations, you will liaise closely with the purchasing function as well as suppliers, and will occasionally attend customer sites to provide technical support
It is essential that the successful candidate is able to demonstrate proven mechanical knowledge together with an understanding of electrical control systems. Using the company database to source customer information and maximise business opportunities from new and existing clients, you will build relationships and support the external Business Development team, helping to train and advise staff and customers on the range of products marketed. Therefore, experience of using ERP systems would be advantageous and PC literacy in the use of MS Office software is essential (including Outlook), as is experience of effective planning and excellent Customer Service and communication skills. You will possess a relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification and a driving licence and will demonstrate a flexible approach in order to ensure customer satisfaction at all times.
