Description: Excellent opportunity for an ERP/MRP experienced supply chain professional to compliment and coordinate the activities of a procurement function allied to a busy manufacturing environment.
Salary: to £30k dependant upon experience
Our client is one of the worlds most highly regarded manufacturers of products for graphics finishing and display applications, and as a result of recent positive internal restructuring, an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well organised Planning & Supply Chain Controller to compliment an established and successful team, and will involve the successful candidate being responsible for the entire supply chain functions, including material planning, forecasting, procurement, inventory management, scheduling, vendor and intercompany manufacturing relationships and demand planning.
Reporting directly to the Production Management and Finance directorate, you will be responsible for planning an approximately £5m pa materials spend within prescribed inventory parameters, and will work closely with all functions of the business in the UK whilst liaising with sister operations in North America and ensuring company targets for supply chain management are achieved.
Your core duties will include:
- Procurement, planning, scheduling machine centres and management of inventory levels
- Use and development of business planning tools such as MRP to imp-rove the identification and fulfilment of demand throughout the group
- Focusing on the UK business looking for productivity improvement and alternative supply opportunities
- Developing shipment forecasts to exceed customer expectations whilst duly considering supply chain constraints
- Developing relationships essential in supporting the supply chain from end to end and liaising effectively with both internal and external customer
- Analysing opportunities and implementing improvements in the supply chain in support of business objectives and best practices whilst maintaining accurate systems data
- Ensuring timely completion of accurate physical inventory counts
- Contributing to the development, communication and implementation of procedures and processes related to supply chain management whilst developing and driving awareness of the supply chain cross functionality
- Developing, monitoring and maintaining supply chain metrics for management reporting
To be considered for this challenging opportunity, you will demonstrate a proven record of success in a planning or scheduling environment and ESSENTIAL experience in previous use of an MRP system as well as working in a procurement capacity, ideally within a linear process manufacturing environment. You will work as part of a team so exceptional communication and liaison skills at all levels as well as solid planning and organisation skills are critical, and also to be able to demonstrate stock management skills from a financial perspective and making savings without reducing optimal performance will prove distinctly advantageous.
