Salary:to £50k basic + bonus / commission scheme - realistic OTE c£80k+
Our client specialise in complete line and factory management solutions allied to the FMCG sector, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, self motivated and highly enthusiastic business development professional with expertise and experience in generating new business and selling factory/production line automation software solutions including MES/SCADA/PLC software and associated packaging line devices.
The successful candidate will be tasked with undertaking proactive business development and technical solution provision activities on a field based role and working from home, so you will need to be highly proactive and driven to achieve assigned sales targets and objectives in an environment where the technical quality of solution and ROI are key factors, and it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in selling integrated factory automation software solutions within the Food & Beverage sector and possess a keen interest in IS/MES applications, and as the role requires the ability to understand the exact requirements of the customer to sell them a solution, therefore a good technical comprehension of highly automated production line solutions (i.e. PLC, SCADA, MES, Networks based etc) is essential.
You will therefore collaborate with the client Marketing Specialist and Sales Director to convert existing enquiries into new business, having complete autonomy to take the full sales cycle from generating new leads, through proactive, targeted sales activities, to closing the sale, whilst liasing with the internal technical team to prepare and present proposals with quotations to prospective customers, preparing solutions in accordance with customer's requirements and carrying out demonstrations and/facilitate customer evaluations of products, whilst performing traditional Key account management and development activities and keeping a keen eye on both changes in market requirements and competitor activity.
To be considered for this highly challenging exceptional opportunity, you will demonstrate a proven ability and track record in generating new business and closing sales, and will have achieved a relevant engineering qualification (ideally Degree (BEng/BSc) qualified in Electrical/Control/Instrumentation Engineering), with those individuals able to demonstrate experience with Line Automation software solutions sales i.e. PLC/SCADA based automation, integrating barcode scanning and vision/inspection systems within the FMCG sector ideally Food, Beverage or Personal Care proving particularly advantageous. You will have a genuine passion for sales combined with an eye for engineering solutions and essentially, strong interpersonal skills as well as exceptional communication and presentation skills. A sales professional who is naturally enthusiastic, likeable individuals who possess a technical flair and an ability to discuss complicated technologies in an easy way whilst demonstrating genuinely ambitious, self-motivated and autonomous traits and who is disciplined and hungry for success will succeed in this position.
Reporting to the Sales Director the role will involve daily contact with customers, suppliers and colleagues with respect to solutions sales, and whilst home based, the role necessitates frequent site visits for sales appointments, presentations and ongoing account management and occasional visits to head office for sales meetings and/or customer demonstrations.
In return, an attractive salary commensurate with experience is offered, alongwith a generous bonus scheme, laptop, phone and car will be made available as part of the role. Additionally a 6% company contributory pension scheme is available after six months, Annual company/ individual performance based bonus discretionary after twelve month’s service and 25 days paid annual leave plus statutory Bank Holidays is offered.
