Description: Experienced CATIA Design Engineer required with skills in rotor blade / turbine design allied to aerospace applications
Salary: to £40k plus relocation and overtime and benefits package

The client design, develop, manufacture and market aerospace products allied to both the defence and civil sectors globally, and as a result of continued success and a strategic programme of planned growth for 2009, are now seeking to recruit an accomplished Principal Rotor Blade Design Engineer to compliment the existing team.
Working within the Design and Analysis department, the successful candidate will be an experienced design engineer familiar with composite structures and dynamic components, and will need to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of surfacing, detailed knowledge of CATIA design tools for drafting and composite ply lay-up and knowledge of dynamic composite design. Activities will include but not be limited to:
· Producing conceptual schemes on new rotor blade designs
· Assisting in the production and checking of engineering drawings
· Supporting the introduction of new design tools
· Liaising with manufacturing, supporting the manufacturing design and development process
· Providing technical supervision to less experienced colleagues
To be considered for this challenging and diverse opportunity, it is ESSENTIAL that you demonstrate:
· Proficiency in CATIA (V4/V5) including experience in advanced surfacing and Composite Covering/Composite Product Design
· Previous composite design experience within aircraft or automotive industries
· An awareness of the appropriate aircraft qualification and certification design standards
· Experience of working in a product manager design environment (such as VPM) advantageous
· Ability to work on own initiative within a team environment, demonstrating practical problem solving skills and the ability to manage own activities to achieve agreed results
