Description: Electrical & Controls Engineer required to devise control solutions for complex materials handling systems

Our client is recognized as a market leader in the provision of bespoke integrated solutions to the automated handling sector, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, are seeking to recruit experienced Electrical and Control Systems Engineers of all levels to compliment their existing team.
Tasked with producing and maintaining state of the art PLC software for a range of plant control applications, successful candidates will demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of PLC software development for Schneider (Modicon) and / or S7 PLC’s as well as electrical engineering for medium and LV power distribution, instrumentation and related cabling, panel design for motor starters and PLC systems. As a systems integrator, the organisation work closely with its customer to ensure their needs are satisfied through the provision of “best in class” process solutions, and it is therefore essential that candidates be able to demonstrate effective communication, personal planning and organisational skills to meet these customer requirements.
To be considered for one of these exciting positions, you will possess a relevant electrical engineering qualification and ideally at least 3 years experience in a similar environment, demonstrating a thorough working knowledge of AutoCAD (ideally release 2006) and have experience of conveyor systems allied to manufacturing, mechanical handling or process environments and working in accordance with ISO9001 regulations. Additionally, knowledge of other brands of PLC including Allen Bradley and FactoryLink and InTouch SCADA packages will prove to be distinctly advantageous.
Candidates will be also be involved in the full project development lifecycle for a range of systems, software and equipment in line with specific customer requirements, making this opportunity considerably more than simply a straightforward PLC software or Electrical CAD “manipulation” role - and successful candidates will relish the challenges and variety they will face and will demonstrate a desire to forge a career working as part of a larger team – so communication skills, enthusiasm, drive and self motivation are essential requirements.
You will be responsible for the generation of specifications at all levels, programming and interfacing control systems, testing and commissioning at customer sites when required and overseeing aspects of cost control and reporting, and will undertake extensive liaison with customers and sub-contractors of all levels during all stages of projects from definition stages to system handover.
