Description: Proactive and experienced senior Production professional required to drive and turnaround an established niche industrial engineering manufacturing and production operation.
Salary: to c£50k + benefits - genuinely negotiable dependant upon experience
Our client has been established for many years and are renowned globally as a market leader in their specialist field. As a result of continued success they are urgently seeking to recruit a highly self-motivated, proactive and dynamic Production Manager to oversee both production processes and engineering personnel within a dedicated fast paced niche sector production facility.
Reporting to the Manufacturing General Manager, the successful candidate will be tasked with communicating with and motivating the production workforce whilst managing the operation of the production processes in order to achieve production targets in line with the production schedule, ensuring that both quality and timescale requirements are adhered to and that corrective actions and quality controls are in place as required.
You will proactively drive process improvement activity within the production area and report back to the management team about production KPIs as required, and assume responsibility for any health and safety issues that may arise within the assigned production area.
Whilst not exhaustive, other responsibilities will include the monitoring of material availability in order to maintain work performance, managing performance and conduct using agreed procedures and ensuring that the operator skill base is developed and recorded and training provided appropriately.
To be considered for this exceptionally varied and challenging position, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to at least HNC level or above or demonstrate relevant experience gained within a comparable heavier engineering environment along with at least 3 years supervisory experience gained within an engineering manufacturing environment. You will essentially demonstrate previous exposure to lean manufacturing, production processes and continuous improvement techniques and methodologies and experience of working within a unionized environment.
The role is best suited to a confident analytical thinker and problem solver able to produce results through effective action, decision making and communication at all levels, and you will possess excellent planning, prioritising and organisational abilities and strong Time Management skills essential within a fast paced international manufacturing and production environment.
