Description: Multi discipline maintenance engineers required for flagship Distribution Centre

Salary: to £29,000 plus benefits

Our client is recognized as one of the worlds leaders in the area of highly advanced automated warehousing and materials handling solutions, and as a result of recent positive internal restructuring, they are now looking to recruit a number of multi discipline, electrically biased shift maintenance professionals to compliment their existing team. Tasked with supporting and maintaining the equipment on a prestigious high profile site, successful candidates will work on an alternating shift basis over five days (6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm) and will have the opportunity to work on state of the art equipment in a newly built facility.

To be considered for these challenging and rewarding positions, successful candidates will possess a relevant engineering qualification (ONC/HNC or above) and 16th Edition IEE regs, and will have the ability to troubleshoot and maintain automated electro-mechanical systems, and whilst the bias of required knowledge is electrical, the role will also involve a high proportion of mechanical work so ideal applicants will need to demonstrate their competence in this area. Ideally you will also have previous experience of maintaining automated equipment and some knowledge of PLC’s would prove to be distinctly advantageous. In return, an attractive salary and benefits package are available for suitably enthusiastic and experience individuals as well as the chance to be part of a steadily expanding organisation.

It should be noted that the environment is “low-oxygen” which means that it is a more demanding environment for carrying out physical activity. It is therefore essential that the engineers on site are physically fit and remain so, and for this reason, medical assessments will be required annually as well as before joining the company.

In addition to carrying out both PPM and reactive breakdown repairs on Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems at customer’s premises, you will also provide Operational Support and fault detection and corrective action services, and will therefore possess a thorough understanding of the interfaces within the Automated systems and of the diagnostic and tracking system and Automated Systems Controls (with experience of Siemens Simatic PLC programming language highly advantageous). Additionally you will be experienced in working with a wide range of voltage and current ranges up to 500A/415V and with AC variable frequency motor and servo drives.
