Our client is a world leader in the provision of digital photography systems for a diverse, exciting and unique market sector and supplied on a global basis. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit for the key position of Technical Manager to compliment their existing team.
Reporting to the Group Technical Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the R&D division, a team of Technical Support professionals and the activities of the Production Management personnel, and will be tasked with the definition, delivery and rollout of the programme of research and development that ensures the organisation achieve the financial goals in its current 3 year plan and budget, ensuring that new systems and upgrades are effectively planned and delivered, including CAPEX requirements, and also ensuring that current and new engineers are trained and supported so that they are able to perform their roles effectively.

The role demands exhaustive liaison with key contacts within the business, so exceptional communication and organisation skills are paramount for the role, and as the role develops, it is likely that visits to customers and competitor sites will be required as well as to new markets and suppliers in order to build and maintain an overview of commercial opportunities driven by technological developments.
In addition to the budgetary control responsibilities, you will also ensure that all company products comply with the relevant legislation that applies in both current and likely future countries of operation, managing a programme of testing as appropriate and the associated engineering support, production and R&D teams, through a process of effective recruitment, training, development, motivation and appraisal of all staff, managing the health and safety requirements of the Group and hitting milestones for product launches and developments.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join an established, highly successful and motivated team in a fast growing and highly competitive market sector, and will suit only the most open minded, capable and committed of Senior Managers. Are you ready for such a challenge?
