Master Planner
North West region
To c£45k plus generous benefits
Our client is a globally renowned manufacturing leader allied to the automotive sector who as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth are now seeking to recruit an experienced, self-motivated and enthusiastic Master Planner to complement their established and successful team.
Based in the North West, working on a permanent “days” basis and reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will ideally demonstrate previous fast paced automotive sector experience although other manufacturing sectors will perhaps be considered, and will be tasked with optimising short and mid-term production plans to ensure internal and external customer KPI’s are achieved and liaising with different departments within the plant in order to ensure efficiency, inventory and customer service targets are maintained.
With proven experience gained within a dynamic manufacturing environment, you will oversee the activities of a small team of production planners working on a shift rotation basis, and will supervise line planning, customer need clarification, risk reduction for the customer and general all round optimal performance at all times, so a strong appreciation of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies are critical for the position. As data is driven through SAP, you should be a confident user of the system along with strong IT proficiency in the MS suite of packages.
Other duties will include analysing long term customer forecasts and calculating capacity planning, defining inventory profile strategies and running regular MPS and MRP to analyse production performance, as well as planning adjustments in the event of machine breakdowns, leading production planning meetings and controlling scheduling information issues as required.
To be considered for this varied and challenging opportunity, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to at least HND level or above and essentially will demonstrate previous experience of working within a master planner / senior planner capacity within a busy manufacturing and production environment with automotive sector knowledge proving distinctly advantageous. Analytical and data driven, you will be detail orientated, familiar with lean principles and able to effectively communicate and influence at all levels.
