Our client is recognized as one of the UK’s market leaders in the automated sortation and materials handling solutions sector, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth and development, they are now looking to recruit a multi discipline Maintenance Site Engineering Manager to complement their established and successful existing team.
Reporting to both the Residential Contracts Manager and the Customer Manager based at East Midlands Airport, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s site engineering and maintenance operation to ensure that the commitments of the support agreement are adhered to, overseeing the day to day management of the maintenance teams and supervisors allied to the automated sortation equipment, whilst building and maintaining an excellent relationship with the customer and both developing and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
With the authority to initiate action to eliminate product process and quality system non-conformities, you will ensure the achievement of performance management KPI’s relating to customer satisfaction and technical performance, providing support services through the onsite team of multi skilled engineers and other departments of the company as applicable and ensuring that quality assurance, health and safety, inspection and training records are prepared and maintained as appropriate and arranging for additional support from the regional team as required.
You will ensure that all maintenance activities are duly planned, actioned, reported and recorded whilst complying with H&S legislation as required, and you will develop and control training plans of support personnel to ensure relevant skill levels of the team are both maintained and developed. Additionally, you will control and monitor the CMMS and manage additional continuous improvement projects as they arise.
Tasked with the achievement of financial and service delivery targets, the relationship that you develop with the customer will allow you to identify and secure further business opportunities by way of enhancements, modifications and upgrades, and with previous success in the
management and motivation of a team of multi skilled maintenance professionals, you will be responsible for the site contract worth more than £650k per annum and will operate as the single point of responsibility for the entire sites’ automation systems.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 5 years’ experience of supervising and motivating an engineering team along with proven hands on electrical and mechanical engineering skills, ideally gained within an automation, distribution or materials handling environment, and realistically be qualified to at least HNC level or above in a relevant engineering discipline.
ESSENTIALLY, you will also either currently hold or be able to attain an Airside Pass.
