Our client specialise in the provision of Construction Health & Safety Consultancy advice to some of the biggest names in the UK. As a result of continued success and an ongoing planned program of strategic expansion, they are now seeking to
recruit an articulate, dynamic and highly self-motivated and experienced CDM Advisor / Principal Designer professional to complement their established and successful CDM team. Working with an established and successful division, the successful
candidate will be a qualified Safety professional able to demonstrate proven experience and knowledge of working within a Construction Health and Safety consultancy environment.
You will be tasked with providing support and services to an established existing client base throughout the UK across all phases of the design and construction lifecycle on a range of challenging projects, and will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects with an understanding of key hazards typical to building and engineering projects in this sector, and will be comfortable in working both autonomously and as part of a wider team in an often pressurised environment.
You will demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels and be able to work effectively with both internal and external project stakeholders to ensure Health and Safety issues are properly addressed and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
The role necessitates an in depth understanding of design and construction processes and the ability to communicate effectively, and essentially you will possess a clear understanding of the legal requirements of the CDM Regulations, and you will be required to make Clients aware of their duties, collate Pre Construction Information and identify how any information gaps will be resolved in a timely manner to ensure sufficient consideration of health and safety issues and carry out H&S specific design reviews throughout the design and construction phases of a project.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to at least degree level (or equivalent) in a construction related discipline and be professionally qualified with an additional Health and Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Construction Certificate, appropriate Membership of APS or ICE H&S Register). Additionally you will ideally possess at least 5 years previous experience in a commercial design or construction health and safety consultancy.
