Our client is recognized as one of the UK’s market leaders in the area of automated materials handling solutions, and with their policy of continuous strategic growth combined with ongoing success, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic
and experienced Service Development Manager to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will be tasked with leading the Continuous Improvement Programme in order to ensure the delivery of improved customer service, and with a significant element of initial responsibilities concentrating on the implementation of a service focussed business planning and control system.
You will be responsible for leading sustainable continuous improvement across the organisation, focussing in particular on service delivery and costs, whilst leading the identification and implementation activities associated with new initiatives and a dedicated service focussed planning and control system. You will adopt the position of internal expert resource for the Principles of Lean and will apply such principles in an innovative and dynamic manner within the engineering services and projects environment, and will develop, lead and embed lean processes by way of customer workshops with the objective of delivering improved processes and waste elimination.
With the ability to organise and facilitate rapid improvement events and longer term Continuous Improvement programmes, you will essentially demonstrate proven experience and credibility in engaging business leaders in Continuous Improvement and Change Management activities. You will develop metrics to guide actions on improving processes and reducing costs and will educate and empower both internal and external teams on achieving improved service and delivery and in sustaining improvements once implemented.
An excellent communicator and motivator at all levels, you will be confident in working both autonomously and as part of a professional and dynamic team committed to the highest levels of customer satisfaction and solution provision, with exceptional organisational and prioritisation abilities. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will realistically be quality to at least degree level in a relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years continuous improvement experience gained in a senior capacity within an automation or distribution environment. A driving licence and flexibility to travel are also essential for the role.
