Our client has been established for more than half a century and are a global supplier and household name in their niche market sector, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Team Leader to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Distribution Centre Operations Manager within a busy high volume FMCG warehouse environment, the successful candidate will be tasked with controlling the day to day running of the warehouse including active participation in the
setting, achieving & monitoring of production, performance, productivity and quality standards.
With previous experience of supervising a team of up to 30 people, the successful candidate will receive and allocate work and resources including transport, labour, overtime and supervision as required, and investigate any errors before reporting findings and recommendations to the Operations Manager. You will thoroughly understand all Distribution Centre procedures and will train employees in the same, identifying non-conformity requiring re-training and implementing this to correct, whilst ensuring all individual training records are accurate and up to date.
You will ensure all works instructions are adhered to and will monitor any breaks in line with company policy, as well as conducting pre-shift checks in accordance with agreed procedures and ensuring processes are operated and checks carried out in accordance with In-house quality procedures. An enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, you will promote a culture of continuous improvement within the working area and deliver effective communication whilst working in a team environment. With previous knowledge and experience of warehouse procedures and housekeeping, you will proactively prevent problems before they arise by taking a forward view of the plan and taking necessary steps to get a result and will actively promote and improve health and safety practices to achieve Company targets.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate previous experience of working in a distribution or manufacturing environment and be experienced in the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques for practical application to problem solving. You will be IT literate in MS Office software and be able to learn the company specific software in the job related areas as required.
