Our client specialise in the provision of managed services for all aspects of production equipment maintenance within a diverse range of manufacturing environments, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) Parts Specialist to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the UK Parts service delivery and improvement initiatives, leading specific projects on customer sites to enhance the effectiveness of the maintenance organisation through the development and implementation of various parts management strategies and techniques. With Safety as the first consideration in all activities, you will set a visible good example of safety behaviour, and will both develop and implement procurement and parts policies, strategies and initiatives to support the strategic plan, ensuring seamless MRO product availability to support site operational plans and developing a supplier management program with
key vendors that will include metrics, performance goals and improvement initiatives.
You will provide expert advice to Site Managers and materials specialists with regards to MRO parts and procurement and define and ensure compliance with all necessary MRO Inventory management procedures at sites, creating and implementing performance metrics for internal control to monitor materials and inventory systems performance and discussing defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine root cause of problems and taking corrective and preventative action. Additionally you will ensure supplier compliance with site and company requirements for safety and manage vendor relationships to build effective
partnerships.
Responsible for planning, developing and buying materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost effective way while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications, you will identify and implement sourcing agreements to lower the cost base and ensure the security of supply, and will additionally provide training and coaching in both Root Cause and Continuous Improvement philosophy, taking ownership for ongoing corrective action tracking, implementation and follow up to ensure that all Root Cause analysis projects are documented.
To be considered for this challenging and varied role, you will essentially possess a full UK driving licence, as travel to all client sites around the UK is required for the position. Additionally it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified in a relevant engineering or technical discipline and demonstrate at least 3 years MRO experience within an established MRO function, with proven experience of sourcing both direct and indirect materials and services within a technical
environment. An effective and enthusiastic communicator at all levels, you will be an experienced user of CMMS and the MS Suite of packages and will be skilled in data analysis, inventory planning and forecasting systems within a
pressurised environment.
