Our client has been established for almost 30 years and provide both services and products on a truly global scale. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of continuous improvement and strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, professional and highly enthusiastic Materials Planning professional to complement their established and successful team.
Based in Rugeley and working on a rota basis (where the core hours are between 6am to 6pm and will alternate between 6am until 3pm or 9am until 6pm), the role reports to the Supply Chain Manager, where the successful candidate will be responsible for a range of planning activities within a busy office environment, ranging from developing daily optimized production schedules and moving Batch Orders to “Started” Status post to confirming all raw materials are available using the “Raw Material Consolidated Report, RMCR”. In addition, based on the output of the RMCR, you will also be responsible for all “Internal Stock Transfers” between sites, the creation of Transfer Orders to and from 3rd Party Warehouses and all Transport Planning and Production End validation processes that investigate and confirm raw material consumption on a batch order basis.
You will utilise the RMCR to highlight the Batch Orders which can be moved from “estimated” to “started” after confirmation of raw material availability, and will create Production Plans for all sites in Excel & R4P using Traksys. You will maintain Batch Order housekeeping in Traksys ie deletion & liaising with Batch Administrator and, using the RMCR organise system, finalise documentation & transport in order to carry out Transfer Orders to/from 3rd party warehousing. You will also use the RMCR system to carry out internal Stock Journals/Movements across the different sites and conduct Production End/Validation processes to ensure that all Batch Order consumption is correct & accurate.
Other duties will include Raw Material Ordering using MRP (ie Planned Purchase Orders) including Direct Delivery P.O’s assisting the Raw Material Controller and Raw Material Intake directly into AX for Bulk, Packaging & any 3rd party deliveries, and reporting any Overage to highlight any shortages or required reductions to minimise waste. With your previous experience of effective planning, you will understand the impact of orders on factory capacities in order to smooth production & deliveries and will measure actual Manufacturing “lead-times” based on “Confirmed” order receipts & actual “ship dates” and measure Finished Product transport performance as well as both develop and sustain Operational KPI’s.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will have worked within a busy manufacturing environment for at least 5 years and possess a flexible approach along with excellent IT and communication skills and supplier management experience. Experience of planning and scheduling systems, in particular “Traksys” is preferred and use of MRP/ERP systems is desirable. Previous planning experience within a manufacturing environment and good all round analytical skills are essential for the role as is the ability to effectively prioritise whilst working within a team environment.
