Our client is a renowned market leader in the manufacture and supply of specialist medical products for a diverse range of applications, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, technically experienced and self-motivated Quality Control professional to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that products supplied to customer are to the correct specifications whilst both designing and implementing a product validation strategy to ensure that the appropriate validation policies and procedures are effective and in place within the existing QMS.
You will be tasked with the delivery of quality testing to ensure that products meet the company’s technical specifications and will review and develop new and modified test methods, preparing test schedules to ensure that the Quality checking function is efficient and effective and defining test ratios based on sound principles. Working closely with the Production Supervisor, you will ensure that the product testing schedules are adhered to and are effective and will perform regular reviews and amendments of the testing schedules to ensure continual improvement and that products are safe and fit for purpose. Additionally you will prepare and review the manufacturing assembly process and methods and the validation of product and analytical methods.
You will be accountable for all technical specifications for the company product portfolio and for the associated development of accurate product specifications, and will work closely with the procurement function when new products are being ordered and suppliers evaluated in order to ensure the accuracy of the product ordered, and will additionally be responsible for ensuring that all changes to products are edited via the design change process for all live registrations and processes are ISO9001/13485 compliant as required.
You will also work closely with the Product development team in order to prepare technical specifications for all new products in development ready for registrations and/or inception to market, and undertake New Product testing during the development stages of the product lifecycle, preparing testing schedules to be delivered on an on-going basis via the production team once the product is ready for market and preparing technical reports on product failures as required. You will record, review and analyse failure rates and provide solutions for more effective production where possible, providing technical support on analysing failures and providing estimates of life expectancy and reliability and delivering corrective action plans to prevent reoccurrence whilst conducting technical investigations on returned products to reveal root cause analysis.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a suitably experienced Quality Engineer able to demonstrate previous manufacturing sector experience (ideally associated with products incorporating plastic and metal component integration) and the ability to read schematic technical drawings. Exceptional communication skills at all levels with both internal and external customers are essential for success in this position, as are commercial awareness and a meticulous approach with a good eye for detail.
