Description: Enthusiastic and self motivated MIS Support professional required for busy hotline support and helpdesk function within a solutions provider operation.
Salary: to c£23k+ benefits
Our client is recognized as one of the UK’s market leaders in the area of automated materials handling solutions, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing program of strategic growth, they are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced MIS Support Engineer to provide day to day support to a range of end users on all aspects of hardware, software, networking and communication platforms across the UK and Europe.
Reporting to the MIS Manager, the successful candidate will work as part of a customer focussed team and participate in an on-call rota (one week in three) liaising with internal customers including site based and field based maintenance and service engineers and supporting Active Directory on MS Windows Server 2003 (and onwards) and MS Exchange 2003.
With a demonstrable understanding of DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP, you will support Windows 7, Linux, Sql Server, IOS and Android platforms and a range of hardware including Dell, HP and Cisco PC’s, Laptops, Tablets, Servers, Switches and Routers as well as the on-site Mitel VOIP telephone system when required. Additionally you will be actively involved in the identification and procurement of relevant IT equipment where necessary.
Working as part of the MIS team, the on-call rota system requires the successful candidate to work on a “one in three” week basis providing 24/7 support to customers and end users including weekends, so an adaptable and flexible approach couple with personal circumstances that will be conducive to such working arrangements will be favourably considered.
To be considered for the varied and challenging role offering both stability and genuine career progression opportunities based on achievement, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified in a relevant Computer Studies or Computer Science related discipline, with industry specific qualifications such as Cisco or MCSE approved status proving distinctly advantageous although not essential. Essentially you will be an expert in Windows based operating systems and demonstrate at least 3 years’ experience in their usage within a commercial environment.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly self-motivated MIS professional to progress their career within a market leading organisation, so if you would like to be considered, in the first instance send a copy of your cv to
