Description: Dynamic and enthusiastic buy / purchasing and procurement professional required for globally renowned manufacturing specialist.
Salary: to £27k plus bonus plus pension
Our client, established for more than a century and renowned globally as a market leader in their specialist field, are urgently seeking to recruit a highly self motivated, dynamic and successful Buyer as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth to complement their established and highly efficient team.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will support and take an active role in all aspects of the purchasing / material control activity within the business, purchasing a wide range of commodities in line with company policy and updating purchase orders with vendor acknowledgements as required.
You will be responsible for the expediting and de-expediting of materials in order to ensure on time supply, and raising to management level any delays likely to affect production, whilst maintaining a list of prospective vendors and materials as well as associated material movement data/charts.
You will investigate and evaluate potential new vendors and maintain accurate vendor price / lead-time files as well as auditing both new and existing vendors and maintaining supply contracts, and will monitor and communicate supplier performance OTIF and PPM. You will additionally compile RFQ packages (including drawings and specifications) and assist the Purchasing Manager as required on daily and project work.
You will assist in achieving cost reduction in line with department objectives as well as the warehouse team with booking materials in and out, and will control Engineering Drawing releases, ensuring all suppliers work to latest drawings and controlling associated inventory levels including Kan Ban ensuring targets are achieved and stock outs are avoided.
