Description: Globally renowned manufacturing leader seeks driven, motivated and experienced Purchasing and Procurement Manager with experience of team and multi million pound budget management.

Our client is renowned globally as a market leader in their specialist field, and is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly self motivated and capable Purchasing Manager to complement their highly successful existing management team. With an annual purchasing spend of almost £14m, they are looking to secure the services of a pro-active and professional purchasing specialist to be responsible for coordinating all aspects of purchasing / supply chain to both maximise the Company's position and provide a long-term strategy to sourcing, including planned growth and market conditions, whilst addition managing an associated stores division with approximately £2.5m of stock.
Reporting to the Operations Director and directly managing a small procurement team, you will be qualified to at least HND / Degree level in a relevant engineering or purchasing discipline and will hold or currently be studying towards the CIPS qualification. You will demonstrate proven previous success gained within a demanding engineering organisation or related environment as well as experience of operating with modern manufacturing and supply chain operations and processes, and will have previous experience gained in inventory optimisation, purchasing and vendor management in a business with an integrated supply chain operation.
Essentially you will demonstrate the highest levels of self-motivation and must have operated within a KPI driven culture, along with excellent communication and people management skills. You will provide direction and leadership to the materials team to ensure timely deliveries, acceptable quality levels, and lean flow of materials in line with meeting customer contract delivery dates and company financial objectives, and develop annual inventory plans and implement policies and procedures to achieve agreed upon inventory targets on a monthly basis. Additionally you will both establish and manage relationships with suppliers and continually seek value added opportunities through well-conceived inventory management programs.
Realistically degree qualified and ideally possessing CPIM or CPM accreditation, you will demonstrate at least 6 years materials management experience gained within a manufacturing environment along with a minimum of 5 years supervisory purchasing experience, again within a manufacturing environment.
