Description: Grid Connection Consultant required to successfully complete grid applications to network operators or renewable energy clients around the UK.
Salary: to £30k plus benefits
Our client is a leading manufacturer of Anaerobic Digestion Plants in the UK and Ireland, with plants providing a range from 1kW to 2mW and above. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and self motivated Grid Connection expert to complement their established and successful team and provide them with full grid connection management.
The successful candidate will essentially demonstrate previous experience of making grid applications either from a network operator or from another renewable energy company, and will undertake occasional travel throughout the UK, so a flexible and adaptable approach as well as a full clean driving licence are initial prerequisites for the role.
You will tasked with a range of responsibilities that will include undertaking the Initial feasibility study and strategy of projects including the identification of the least cost point of connection and the submission of grid applications, and liaising with the network companies to appraise the DNO’s quote for technical, way leave and cost considerations as required.
You will ensure grid code compliance including Voltage compliant plant specifications and early electrical study works as well as providing technical input during the procurement processes, and will also provide final connection management, giving technical input during the procurement processes and delivering comprehensive reports on a regular basis to the management team. You will constantly look to make grid connection savings on contestible costs as well as monitor the grid connection process and check that it is proceeding as expected whilst working closely with clients to investigate on farm site / solutions.
