Description: Driven, motivated and experienced Raw Material Planning Team Manager required for globally renowned manufacturing leader.
Salary: Negotiable dependant upon experience - realistically c£35k-£45k
Our client has been established for almost 30 years and provide both services and products on a truly global scale. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of continuous improvement and strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, adaptable and highly experienced Raw Material Planning Team Manager to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Senior Raw Material Manager, the successful candidate will create and manage a highly effective Materials Planning Team accountable for the timely and cost effective supply of raw materials into various manufacturing sites whilst being responsible for the parallel delivery of a change programme that encompasses the overhaul of systems, processes and communication with sites along with increasing the skills and capabilities of the team and delivering a significant reduction in distribution and third party rental costs.
The successful candidate will additionally be responsible for establishing and achieving Raw Material Planning standards and KPI’s in order to consistently deliver exceptional service to the manufacturing sites and an array of both internal and external stakeholders, providing leadership, direction and support to create an engaged, committed and highly effective customer focussed team and inspiring direct reports to take and achieve their fullest potential.
You will manage the day-to-day activities of the team and will work closely with the procurement and supply chain functions, establishing SLA’s and effective processes with suppliers and hauliers to attain the highest levels of delivery performance and maintaining a robust process for contract management and ensuring that contract balances are routinely checked and agreed with suppliers. Essentially, you will champion a culture of continuous process improvement and collaboration with Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Technical and other key internal stakeholders, so proven experience of implementing and sustaining change management and driving teams and process improvement to ensure the delivery of significant commercial benefits coupled with a strong understanding of material scheduling and inventory management (with limited on-site storage capacity and preferably within a batch production environment) are critical for success in the role.
With your ability to develop and maintain strong relationships and drive change management and process improvements, you will demonstrate a flexible approach and effective prioritising skills with the ability to resolve problems and escalate issues in a fast paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels are essential along with the ability to manage and create dynamic and committed teams focused on the delivery of highest levels of customer service, with knowledge of GAFTA & AIC Commodity Contract Terms and associated H&S regulations, quality assurance standards and environmental legislation proving distinctly advantageous.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a suitably experienced, dynamic and self-motivated Materials Planning professional to progress their career and grow a formidable team within a fast paced, highly professional and globally renowned operation committed to the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
