Description: Experienced and highly capable senior Controls Engineering professional required for market leading automation and materials handling solutions provider.
Our client specialise in all aspects of design, development and manufacture of bespoke automation solutions and provide a diverse range of handling systems for high volume manufacturing environments on a global basis in a number of market sectors. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth for 2014, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly self-motivated Controls Engineer to complement their established and successful team.
Tasked with the design of control circuits for automated machinery, the successful candidate will undertake extensive control panel design work utilising AutoCAD and dedicated electrical circuit design packages (previous experience of these is essential for the position), working to customer specifications and constructing associated BOM’s, sales quotations and end user technical literature. You will be skilled in the specification of electrical control components and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Machinery Directives whilst possessing good practical skills with high level of workmanship and experience of control panel construction.
Working both autonomously and as part of a team, you will install control systems on various automated machines and follow projects through to full installation and commissioning of systems to clients throughout the UK and occasionally overseas. You will have previous experience of PLC software design, installation and commissioning – ideally using Mitsubishi, Siemens, Allen Bradley and Omron PLC’s, and will undertake associated HMI software design, installation and commissioning. Previous experience of working with vision, robotics, servo systems and pneumatic systems as well as in the development of automated systems will prove distinctly advantageous.
