Description: Experienced technical sales / business development and key account manager required for our electric actuator solutions specialist client.
Our client has been established for more than 15 years and specialise in the design and manufacture of innovative electric actuator solutions for supply to a diverse range of industry sector customers throughout the world, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, experienced and highly self-motivated Technical Sales and Key Account Management professional to complement their professional solutions sales team.
Based in the Staffordshire / East Midlands region and covering both the UK and Ireland, the successful candidate will undertake a range of both proactive new business development activities ( ≈70%) and existing account management activities ( ≈30%) with particular focus on the industrial sector (so experience of actuator sales to sectors such as farming, agricultural or construction clients will prove distinctly advantageous).
You will be proactive in the identification and securing of valuable new customers in a range of industry sectors and markets whilst providing ongoing technical support to existing customers, and ensuring the highest levels of satisfaction are attained whilst maximising revenue development opportunities from those relationships.
Working closely with the experienced technical solutions engineering team based overseas, you will excel in delivering technical advice and solutions to both new and existing clients and will be skilled in both undertaking accurate engineering calculations and also creating commercially viable and attractive tender and quotation documentation before presenting these to the client and following up to secure orders and repeat business.
In order to be considered for this varied and challenging position, it is essential that you be able to demonstrate exceptional commercial and communication / influencing skills at all levels, and be comfortable in both proactive new business development activities as well as existing account management responsibilities, and will be flexible to travel as required (including occasional trips abroad) as well as attending trade fairs and shows as an ambassador of the business.
It is envisaged that you will realistically be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering and technical discipline with at least 3 years demonstrable previous proven success in a technical and engineering B2B sales environment – typically involving actuator technology – with good mechanical engineering abilities and knowledge of fluid or pneumatic technology again proving distinctly advantageous.
