Sales and Service Manager
to c£45k + commission OTE + Car

Location: Enfield, Middlesex

Description: Dynamic and experienced Sales and Service Manager required by our globally renowned automation solutions specialist client to grow and develop a team committed to exceptional customer service.

Our client is part of an established Group that specialise in the provision of bespoke automated solutions to a diverse range of customers and industry sectors worldwide. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated Sales and Service Manager to complement their established and professional customer focussed sales team.

Reporting to the Sales Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a driven Sales and Service department to achieve and exceed its goals, ensuring the Area Sales Managers attain agreed sales performance targets through both proactive new business development activities as well as maximising revenue generation from effective existing account management and customer support activities.

Tasked with leading, mentoring and developing a small team of Service Engineers, Customer Service Representatives and Area Sales Managers, you will ensure that customer queries, needs and requirements are identified and satisfied from the considerable portfolio of solutions available whilst being commercially beneficial to the business. You will also ensure that all new enquiries are pursued to their full potential and conclusion – and that proactive post-sale customer service activities are diarised and regularly completed to ensure repeat business results through equipment enhancement, modification, upgrade or service contracts are maximised.

Other duties for this varied and challenging role will include (but not be limited to):

  • Driving growth through state-of-the-art sales and Services support to customers.
  • Devising, implementing and reviewing sales strategies to ensure target achievements
  • Organising after-sales support in term of repairs and on-time spare parts deliveries.
  • Resolution of sales and service issues of customers whilst developing long-term mutually beneficial and commercially lucrative relationships with customers.
  • Perform competitor products and services analysis to ensure the business remains at the forefront of the marketplace
  • Ensuring compliance to all corporate policies and procedures and standards
  • Managing your own portfolio of customers and maintaining and updating the sales database (customer data, competitor data, etc.) to ensure no opportunities are missed
  • Leading and supporting marketing activities, including trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
  • Reporting to the Senior Management Team (Sales statistics, customer visits, prospects, etc.) as well as liaising with technical experts both internally and externally as required

To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 5 years previous successful experience in a similar automation / packaging / special purpose machinery solutions sales and service environment with the ability to influence, mentor and motivate at all levels, and will possess excellent communication and organisational skills as well as a high level of commercial acumen to ensure business and personal targets are achieved.
