Description: Experienced and enthusiastic Technical Support Specialist required to ensure consistently high quality and compliance in a niche sector manufacturing operation.

Our client has been established for more than 30 years and specialise in the design and manufacture of high quality bespoke domestic lighting and furniture solutions for a wide range of applications, and as a result of continued success an ongoing programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Technical Support Specialist / Technical Administrator to complement their vibrant and professional team.

With the responsibility and authority to ensure that processes needed for the Quality Management System are established, implemented and maintained, the Technical Support Specialist / Administrator will be responsible for maintaining technical files, ensuring product compliance and conducting regular reviews of the system and updating as required.

The successful candidate will ensure that lighting solutions placed on the market are of the highest quality and fully compliant with relevant applicable regulations throughout the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, and will work closely with the Product Development team and other departments to make sure that all new products are safe to be considered for introduction, and then supporting the product introduction process to ensure that all regulatory and compliance documentation is gathered to create technical documentation files as required for Market surveillance authorities.

In addition to paying particular attention to the product marking to ensure products are suitable for UK, European and US sales markets, you will also ensure that products are satisfactorily tested to the required standards to allow for shipping worldwide (as an example, current projects work to an IECEE/CB standard to enable easier shipping to the Middle East).

You will keep abreast of emerging developments in the market and technology that could be utilised in both new and existing products and will work closely with both calibration and assembly teams for design and assembly applications, and will be responsible for the creation of associated Bills of material for the entire product portfolio.

Other duties will include (but not be limited to) representing the Product team on all quality related issues throughout the lifecycle of a product, providing technical support with both clients and electricians as required (and escalating issues to compliance houses as required) and undertaking training courses and attending trade fairs to ensure that safe procedures are being adhered to at all times.

To be considered for this varied and challenging Technical Support Specialist role it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate a background in electrical compliance and quality control focused positions with LED Lighting experience proving distinctly advantageous. You will possess strong multi-tasking and efficient time management skills along with high levels of attention to detail and excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills at all levels.
