Description: Organised and efficient Site Manager required to ensure the on time delivery of rental engineering solutions in a fast paced customer focussed environment. An exceptional opportunity for 2023!

Our client has been established for more than three decades and is a global market leader in the provision of highest quality catering infrastructure solutions for supply throughout the world, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a proactive and experienced Site Manager to complement their established and highly successful Operations division.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering and tasked with overseeing both premises and the activities of a team of Site Supervisors, Engineers and Labour resources, the successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient planning and delivery of projects within the UK and occasionally Europe and other worldwide locations. Core duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Day to day site compliance including H&S, COSHH, fire regulations, facilities management and general safe working practices, and the management of the site-based team, highlighting any personnel, training or any other issues to the Head of Engineering as well as completing staff appraisals.
  • Attending project meetings and using systems to check for new orders and amendments of stock hire updates whilst liaising closely with the fleet team to ensure clear direction and stock levels are checked as required.
  • Controlling all incoming and outgoing equipment prior to hire in line with demand

The successful candidate will lead, motivate and manage the team on a day-to-day basis, delegating and controlling tasks and supervising and correcting quality issues as they may arise whilst communicating all information relevant to the necessary contacts and keeping them aware of the bigger picture by briefing them in person on a daily basis.

You will demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills, working closely with other departments to ensure equipment is ready for delivery for both standalone or multiple units and is of the required quality and cleanliness with all associated Pre-Delivery Inspection paperwork complete, and will oversee the day-to-day management of equipment demand as well as inbound and outbound responsibility and the associated impact on both storage and equipment movement within the environment.

Other duties will include ensuring that all barcode scanning and other equipment recording procedures are complied with and accurate picking boards and stock records are maintained in line with fleet controls, whilst ensuring that Safe working practices are adhered to (including racking safety, forklift truck daily inspections, site safety including loading and unloading of units, personnel training and facilities etc). You will also ensure the efficient usage of internal storage space and racking to maximize space and stock holding whilst managing all external spaces at the site and ensuring adherence to relevant health and safety working practices and processes. 

To be considered for this varied and challenging Site Manager position within a fast-paced operational environment, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess a hands on approach with the ability to supervise and control a small team of direct reports, demonstrating essential effective communication skills at all levels and strong problem solving and decision making skills with solid commercial acumen and the ability to utilise resources efficiently for both performance and financial purposes whilst being able to work well under pressure in a structured and methodical manner
