Description: Senior Engineer with proven pump sector experience required to drive change and continuous improvement across a highly successful design and manufacturing operation within a niche industry sector.

Our client has been established for more than a century and are recognised market leaders in the design, manufacture and service of precision engineered pump solutions for clients throughout the world. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Engineer to support the Management team and produce engineering technical data that delivers in line with  customer requirements whilst ensuring Product Quality and Industrial standards as well as Environmental and Legal requirements are met, and to operate as a source of specialist knowledge and provide technical support to other areas of the business as required.

Reporting to the Engineer Manager, the successful candidate will actively support the activities of the Engineering Management Team and will contribute to the departments’ success through the achievement of individual KPIs.

You will assist in the design of products that meet Quality and Industrial standards, Environmental and Legal requirements and apply your specialist knowledge and techniques in the design process, being responsible for the technical content of complex products, projects, contracts or BU product lines as well as leading multiple technical projects and teams at any one time.

You will also be responsible for the approval of technical documents, and ensuring the company has access to the latest specialist knowledge and technical developments in the marketplace relevant to the role. You will ensure that project designs comply with relevant safety requirements (including PPE compliance) and that the quality of service and compliance in legislation and standards through effective technical risk management including Health & Safety, the provision of accurate technical data which supports quality initiatives and right-first-time practices are in place.

Other responsibilities will include working within departmental policies and procedures at all times and actively supporting the business Strategic Plan, providing timely and accurate reporting as required and supporting operations and attending production and sales meetings when necessary.

To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will essentially demonstrate both knowledge and practical experience of the design and application of technical pumps, liquid fluid systems and associated equipment along with proven experience of leading multifunction teams and leading business change.

You will realistically be Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline and be highly numerate with solid IT skills, ERP Knowledge and experience of 2D and 3D drafting and design work. Experience with specific industry sector knowledge holding Chartered status and with demonstrable experience in Project Management and the use of AutoCad, CREO and SAP will prove distinctly advantageous.
