Description: Articulate, enthusiastic and self motivated Production Planner and Purchasing Assistant required by our niche sector globally renowned manufacturing specialist client.Our client has been established for more than 35 years and are recognised market leaders in the design and development, manufacture and distribution of an impressive portfolio of electrical cabling and connection solutions for supply throughout the world.
As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic Production Planner and Purchasing Assistant to complement their existing purchasing and scheduling division and provide support to the Procurement and Production Planning Manager in the scheduling of orders and general logistics support to meet the demands of the business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and managing purchase orders of finished goods, components and 3rd party services as well as processing and managing inhouse production orders. You will assist in reviewing and maintaining optimal stock levels at all times and will liaise extensively with various divisions to communicate production order updates with internal stake holders and will also be responsible for understanding the needs of the company based on stock, inventory, projects and plans as well as developing and maintaining a solid understanding of general sales and market trends according to the industry.

Other responsibilities for this varied and challenging role will include:
• Scheduling the usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels
• Evaluating suppliers for quality, timeliness and match according to goals
• Monitoring material supply flow and identifying any shortages or bottlenecks in usage
• Identifying and resolving problems relating to inventory
• Addressing issues regarding quality and production
• Producing reports based on findings and performance of production
• Managing deadlines based on project expectations
To be considered for this exciting new and exclusive opportunity for 2022, you will essentially demonstrate extensive hands-on knowledge and experience in the use of SAP / ERP systems along with the Microsoft suite of packages and will demonstrate comprehensive experience of manufacturing processes, ideally gained within a busy pressing or machining environment. You will possess the ability to define problems, measure/collect data, establish facts and analyse data, select and implement solutions and control/sustain outcomes, and will be a confident influencer and communicator at all levels with a positive and professional demeanour. Flexible to travel to meet with suppliers, distributors and manufacturers as required, you will thrive in a data driven environment that will utilise your critical thinking skills to make solid decision in an often-pressurised environment.
