Description: Experienced and proactive Production Manager required to oversee all aspects of manufacture, quality and continuous improvement within a busy niche sector manufacturing operation.

Our client has been established for almost 20 years and specialise in the manufacture of a range of pharmaceutical solutions for supply throughout the UK. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and self-motivated Production Manager to complement their dynamic and professional team and oversee all aspects of production in a busy manufacturing environment.

Working on an 8am to 4.30pm Mon to Fri basis and reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be directly responsible for a team of 15 individuals including Line and Manufacturing Operatives, Engineers and Warehouse personnel, and will work closely with the Production Controller to both plan and implement the production programs agreed by the Managing Director, ensuring necessary materials are in place including Manufactured Product, API's, bottles, cartons and labels before allocating personnel to a line so down time is reduced to an absolute minimum.               

You will be able to carefully consider product order requirements and communicate these to the team members, and will address production problems as they arise, analysing reasons why they arose and considering changes that will reduce their occurrence again in the future.

You will also be responsible for associated administration and record requirements relating to activities including quality approval as directed by Quality Control personnel under the direction of the Quality Control Director or Quality Approval Manager and will liaise with the Production Controller and submit daily reports on performance and progress to Production controller , Quality Assurance Director , Quality Assurance Manager, Accountant and Managing Director as necessary.

Tasked with ensuring that each team member is fully acquainted with their responsibilities and have adequate training for their role, you will supervise the Warehouse Personnel who must ensure material requirements are promptly delivered to the production areas to minimise down-times and supervise and set priorities for the engineers who will be required to set up lines and undertake PPM and promptly deal with equipment breakdowns as they may arise.

With excellent communication and motivational skills to get the best from your team and ensuring required production performance levels and quality standards which satisfy quality assurance requirements are achieved, you will maintain discipline amongst team members in order to ensure that operatives are attentive and diligent at all times, and capable of undertaking disciplinary procedures as required whilst encouraging co-operation between team members and other departments in the best interests of the business.

You will be responsible for ensuring a clean, healthy, and safe working environment is maintained at all time and that good house-keeping standards are sustained and that all staff have and use at all times the appropriate safety and health clothing and equipment  and have been instructed in their use, and you will brief Team Members on all aspects of Company Policy, personnel requirements and expectations and employment issues providing the Managing Director, Quality Assurance Director and Quality Assurance Manager with feedback information where required.
