Description: Experienced Senior Project Design Engineer professional required to oversee automation and MHE projects from concept to handover with our niche sector solutions specialist client.
Our client has been established for more than half a century and specialise in the installation and support of Automated Materials handling solutions for clients throughout the world, and as a result of continued success and an exciting program of strategic growth for 2022 and beyond, are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to complement their motivated and professional Design and Engineering team.
Reporting to the Design and Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for working within the project team as a mechanical design engineer, developing equipment specifications, detailed layouts, bespoke component drawings using AutoCAD 2D and BOM’s whilst playing a proactive part in a team working to ensure a successful automation project is delivered.
Your input will be welcomed and valued, and you will take part in producing the Design Risk Assessment as well as being an active participant in design reviews where your creativity and experience will help the team develop cutting edge solutions, often requiring the integration of new technologies. You will work closely with colleagues in Control Engineering, Procurement, Installations and Project Management, whilst ensuring focus on quality, cost and schedule compliance are maintained at all times.
To be considered for this varied and challenging opportunity it is envisaged that you will be qualified to at least HND level or above in a relevant mechanically biased engineering discipline and demonstrate previous experience in the design of capital equipment products or automation systems, along with knowledge of best practice in engineering design (inc. calculations), Machinery Directive, EN12100 and experience in working within a Quality Management System and delivery of products requiring CE/UKCA marking.
