Description: Customer committed IT Projects Manager required by our niche sector industrial IT solutions provider.
Our client has been established for more than 20 years and are recognised market leaders in the creation and delivery of Industrial IT solutions for both power generation and consumption clients throughout the UK.
As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced, articulate and highly customer focused IT Projects Manager to complement their professional and highly successful team.
The power industry is meeting some significant challenges today. The requirement to move towards zero carbon supply has led to the increasing use of renewables such as wind and solar. However, our island climate is not the most predictable, so fast and flexible alternatives need to be activated and controlled in order to maintain supply stability. This is where the big changes in their market are taking place, and innovation is their key to success.
Our client is looking for an individual who can help them move forward by supporting the development team whilst keeping in frequent contact with clients. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commercially astute approach to meeting the needs of clients and will possess a strong understanding of how IT solutions are created and made available in the marketplace.
In an environment committed to the highest levels of reliability and customer satisfaction, you will need to be able to “think as the customer would” – in order to understand their requirements in minute detail then deliver projects on time and within budget that meet the brief. As many customers have service delivery and support arrangements, you will excel in ensuring they have what they need at all times. You must also be able to identify opportunities where the customer would benefit from enhancements, modifications and upgrades that would be technically and commercially beneficial to all parties.
They are not seeking an individual with an engineering or software background, rather someone who understands the application and capabilities of I.T. However, the applicant should have experience and genuine interest in IT solutions and understand the terminology and capabilities of system solutions and their limitations.
You will manage multiple projects at any one time that can have lead times of between a month and a year and will possess excellent time management and prioritising abilities in an environment where the customer is key and will be confident in managing both IT systems and customer relationships and escalating issues as required, whilst liaising with the customer at every step of the way.
To be considered for this varied and challenging opportunity, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will ideally be qualified to degree level or above (not essential if you can demonstrate relevant career experience) in an industrial IT or software related discipline with marketing knowledge and experience proving distinctly advantageous.
