Field Service Engineer

Location: West Midlands base with UK wide coverage

Description: Multi skilled field service professional required to undertake PPM, service and breakdown repair and installation activities on a range of special purpose manufacturing machinery.

Our client is recognised as a market leader in the manufacture and supply of bespoke specialist fire rated glass solutions to a diverse range of clients throughout the UK, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and self-motivated multi skilled Field Service Engineer to complement their established and professional team. 

Based in the West Midlands and providing UK wide coverage to sites in Essex, Manchester, Derby and Edinburgh as well as the Midlands and South West, the successful candidate will be tasked with undertaking both planned preventative and reactive maintenance and installation activities on a range of glass processing equipment and special purpose machinery at various sites around the country. 
Our client offers customers an exhaustive portfolio of complete glazing solutions from initial design through to commissioning, and the successful field service engineer candidate will demonstrate a hands-on, multi skilled and electrically biased engineering background along with exceptional communication and customer facing skills to ensure complete satisfaction on every occasion. 
You will be responsible for all aspects of Stores Management and inventory management of machines at each site, and will devise and implement an effective Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule across the country as well as providing reactive breakdown call out cover as required. 
To be considered for this varied and challenging field service engineer role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to at least HNC level or above in a relevant engineering discipline and will possess at least 3 years’ experience of working in a Field Service capacity with special purpose machinery, with glass processing experience proving distinctly advantageous. 
Previous experience of working with Tamglass Furnace equipment, Bottero, RBB and Intermac glass processing machinery will prove distinctly advantageous although experience of Bavelloni, Atlantic, Thermoseal or Bystronic machines will also be considered.
