Description: Multi skilled, electrically biased Field Service professional required to undertake both PPM, installation and repair of humidification solutions and air curtains across the London region.
Our client is recognised as the world leader in the design, manufacture, installation and support of industrial and commercial evaporative cooling and humidification products and systems throughout the world, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Field Service Engineer to complement their established and professional team.
Based within the M25 between the M1 and M3 motorways (with good access to both London and the M4 and Midlands) and reporting to the Service Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the PPM, service, commissioning and repair of a range of both air curtains and humidification / dehumidification equipment across the region in accordance with relevant procedures, best practices and product technical manuals.
Tasked with undertaking both PPM and service activities for local service contract sites, you will actively promote the benefits of planned maintenance and adjust service contracts accordingly, actively seeking out new opportunities to promote company products where beneficial as well as developing long term relationships that will encourage clients to accept recommendations appropriate to their needs both now and in the future.
You will also undertake warranty works as required, clarifying whether such work is covered under policy and ensuring that parts replaced are recorded and returned in accordance with procedures, as well as performing surveys and small works where required for unit repairs and upgrades. As an ambassador of the brand, you will demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels, promoting a positive image of the organisation and consistently delivering the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction at all times. You will deliver basic demonstrations of unit operation to fellow engineers and customers including servicing, fault finding and H&S requirements as well as providing technical support assistance to the service team as required, whilst keeping your own skills, knowledge and competencies up to date and relevant on an ongoing basis.
Able to produce clear and detailed reports on completed works, parts used and any other relevant information or issues deemed appropriate, you will efficiently plan and book site visits and communicate specific requirements with the service team or the client in advance and respond promptly to any customer or internal enquiries as received. You will also manage your vehicle stock and fittings levels efficiently as well as PPE and ladders etc to ensure they are available and in good working order and will comply at ALL times with appropriate H&S and quality procedures as applicable.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, you will essentially hold a full UK driving licence and be flexible to travel throughout London (and on occasion further afield) and included in the (1 in 9 weeks) call out rota system (there is NO night work, but occasional weekend work may also be required (with overtime).
It is envisaged that you will essentially demonstrate proven experience of working on a range of HVAC systems, commercial and construction site environments and plantrooms and will be both comfortable in working at height and also skilled in carrying out risk assessments with a solid electrical engineering awareness. You will also be competent in reading basic line drawings with experience of humidifiers proving distinctly advantageous.
